How To Avoid Bad Lip Fillers

June 13, 2018 6:46 am

More and more people now days are wanting Facial Filler treatments to add volume and to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. If done with a qualified skilled practitioner, there are low risks involved.

If this treatment is not carried out correctly it could lead to patients experiencing physical discomfort and looking unnatural and over-volumized.

The team at Viva Dental Studio in Hornchurch, Essex, are highly qulified to conduct these treatments and have put together a small list of things you should check before having any Facial Aesthetic treatment carried out.

Qualifications

No matter what treatment you are planning on having, it’s important to always check the qualifications of the practitioner. Ask the practitioner treating you for proof of training and qualifications and certificates. If for any reason the practitioner doesn’t wish to show you proof of their training or qualification, find someone who will. Currently within the UK there is no Law to say that anyone carrying out Lip Fillers needs to have any medical training or qualifications, so this in itself should be a reason to ask.

Consultation

Consultations are a vital part to any treatment planning. It allows for yourself and the practitioner to sit down and discuss what your needs and requirements are. Within your consultation the practitioner will go through the procedure with you and take a detailed medical history from yourself. This will allow the practitioner to asses which fillers are safe to administered for you.

Products

Regardless to which aesthetic treatment you opt for, knowing what product is being used is very important. Ask your practitioner what filler products they use – any credible practitioner will be able to answer you instantly. If they are unable to answer your question, find somewhere who can.

At Viva Dental Studio we use brands such as: Restylane, Juvederm and Teosyal.

AfterCare

Anyone carrying out Aesthetics should offer their patient’s an after-care review appointment, to check how everything is and to make sure you’re happy with the results. Its important to check what the after-care procedure is before starting any treatment. If an after-care appointment is not offered you should stay away as that shows a lack of care for their patients.

At Viva Dental Studio, we offer after-care review appointments for all our Facial Aesthetic treatments.

Reviews

Reviews are a great way to see if patients have had a good or bad experience.

If there are lots of positive reviews the chances are that you will receive a similar experience. Negative reviews are a warning sign to advise you to stay away. Ensure you do your research for booking and committing to any treatment.
